Is this possible everywhere?

In Belgium and neighbouring countries we come to you. Further afield is possible by arrangement. For a badly damaged device we discuss beforehand whether it is feasible on site.

What if it does not work at my place?

We explain why, and you choose: stop, or have the recovery finished in our lab under the same agreements. There too, all copies are destroyed afterwards, with a certificate.

Is it safe to open a drive at my home?

Yes, because the drive is not opened in your room air but in a mobile cleanroom: the same dust-free environment as in the lab.

What does a private recovery cost?

On top of the normal recovery price we charge travel and the engineer's day. Gilding is a separate option. After the intake you know the full amount.

What it is

In an ordinary recovery you hand over your device and get it back with your data. In a private recovery an engineer comes to you, at home or at the office, and everything happens in your presence.

You see what is on the drive, you hear why a step is needed, and you choose which files come first. Nothing goes to a lab, and nobody else sees your data.

How a day runs

Intake Beforehand, by phone: what happened, which device, what matters.
Setup The engineer sets up the equipment at your place, including a mobile cleanroom if the drive has to be opened.
Imaging First a write-protected copy. Your original device is not touched afterwards.
Looking together You see folders and files appear, and say which ones must be included.
Delivery Your data on a new device, encrypted if you want, with a file list.

What happens to your device afterwards

At the end of the day you decide. Whatever the choice, all working copies are destroyed in your presence, and you get a certificate for that.

Destroy

The device is destroyed, with a certificate per device, type and serial number.

Keep

You keep the device, and we leave it as it is.

Gild

We finish the drive's platters with a gold layer. You get them back as a keepsake: framed, as a paperweight, or simply to show.

The gilding happens on the platters: the data is then gone for good, and what remains is an object you can keep.
